Dandeli is a small town in the western ghats of North-West [Karnataka]], India. Dandeli is known as a Wildlife sanctuary and is proud of being one of the tiger projects. People have also moved from across India to work in the industries in Dandeli. Dandeli is also known for its adventure activities on the River Kali. Located close to the Supa Dam on Kali, Dandeli offers options for white water rafting and canoeing. The rapids are class 3 and there is one recirculating rapid in the circuit

KALI RIVER




This is the best tropical river rafting experience one can have in India. It is a journey through pristine wilderness, past sun-bleached rock formations and the chance of rare wildlife sighting. No rafting experience is necessary as initial training is provided by friendly experienced guides. The river is dam controlled and pretty much flows from October to June but the best experience is when it is flowing with all gates open.Your journey starts with a jeep ride to the beautiful starting point close to the Supa Dam. Once you are kitted up and a brief safety talk, you hit the river! The first 20 minutes will involve training with various safety drills and paddling techniques.It is 3 hours of adventure navigating the class III to IV rapids. Enjoying the exciting rapids and crystal clear waters of the Kali River. You can also take a swim in the warm clear waters between rapids. It is a fun-filled run with its motions of splashes and spills. A journey through beautiful tropical forest, which surrounds the river with its exotic flora and fauna. Absolutely rejuvenating!

Best Season
Dandeli receives heavy rain in the months of June-September. Therefore, rafting is not allowed in monsoon season. Routes are open from November onwards. The months of November to June are considered the best for white water rafting in Dandeli.

By Air: Belgaum (90 km), which is well connected to cities like Mumbai and Bangalore, is the nearest airport. Besides, Goa is 150 km far from Dandeli.
By Rail: Alnavar (32 km), Londa (48 km), Dharwad (57 km) and Hubli (75 km) are the nearest railheads.
By Road: Dandeli is well connected to the major cities of India like Bangalore, Mumbai, Goa, Belgaum, Karwar and Dharwad.
